The Outreach Ministry is involved in supporting a variety of organizations and projects in our community and the world through service and donations.  Here a just a few of the organizations we support with our time, talent, and treasure.

Gifts of Grace offers a special way to honor family and friends.  You have the opportunity to select gifts from seven organizations that will make a difference in our community and the world.  You may make a tax free donation to these community and church sponsored non-profit programs in honor of someone special on your holiday list.  In return, you will receive a beautiful card, designed by one of our children, into which you may add the recipient's name.  An insert card with a description of the program chosen in their honor will be included.  "Gifts of Grace" makes it easy to donate any amount to these organizations which operate on both the local and international level to relieve human suffering.

Ruthie's Community Kitchen honors the life of Ruth Rigor, a small woman with a huge heart.  Ruthie was an active member of our congregation and community for many years.  With her generous contribution to St. Andrew's, members of the Outreach Committee and congregation agreed that the best way to honor Ruthie would be to reach out to serve the greater community.  Ruthie's Community Kitchen is supported by area churches, community groups and local businesses.  Each Tuesday at His Dream Center a warm meal and fellowship is provided to those in our community in need.

Room at the Inn fills the need to provide food and shelter for the homeless in our community during the winter months.  Area churches provide breakfast, dinner and a bagged lunch as well as overnight accommodations every evening beginning in November.  A paid Intake Person and can driver serve the program as well.  To help contact Gale Leonard at

Lifeguard Dinners are served to our local lifeguards every week by a  variety of churches in our community during the summer months.  St. Andrews serves the Kill Devil Hills lifeguards once a month at the Bath House across from the Stop n' Shop.  If you would like to help, contact Linda White at or call 252-441-4464.

Interfaith Community Outreach works hand in hand with various Dare and Currituck County churches as well as many public and private organizations to provide individuals and families with emergency "gap" services and assistance.

The Beach Food Pantry  is a benevolent non-profit organization serving the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  For over twenty years, the Beach Food Pantry has aided people throughout our communities by providing food to families and individuals during their time of need.  Our mission is to help fight hunger and poverty of residents of Dare County, with temporary assistance of food and personal items as needed and to establish such other services as to alleviate hunger and poverty.  To help, contact

Food for Thought is an all volunteer community non-profit organization dedicated to reducing hunger and academic risk facing elementary children in Dare County by providing healthy, [ImageHere]non-perishable meals every weekend and holiday during the school year to those children who qualify.
