The Episcopal Church strongly supports immunizations and views them as a moral and religious duty to protect both individuals and communities.
Children in childcare or other group settings are at increased risk of exposure to many infectious diseases. Immunization is critical for children in early care and education settings. Young children and pregnant mothers are at high risk of complications from vaccine preventable diseases including measles, pertussis, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), rotavirus, and diseases due to Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and pneumococcus.
Therefore, St. Andrew’s Preschool follows the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations on immunizations for children to reduce the spread of vaccine preventable diseases.
