Outreach Members Presenting Checks to The Beach Food Pantry, Food for Thought, Room in the Inn, and The Currituck Food Pantry

St. Andrew’s supports our community through service and donations. There are many opportunities to get involved. Contact Bobbie Murray for more information about the ministries below, or if you’d like to serve in another way.

Room in the Inn

Room at the Inn fills the need to provide food and shelter for the homeless in our community during the winter months. Area churches provide breakfast, dinner, and a bagged lunch every evening beginning in November.

Lifeguard Dinners

St. Andrew’s prepares and serves meals to the Kill Devil Hills lifeguards once a month during the summer. Meals are served at the Bath House across from the Stop n’ Shop. Volunteers are needed to set up, serve food and clean up.

Beach Food Pantry

For over twenty years, the Beach Food Pantry has aided people throughout our communities by providing food to families and individuals during their time of need. Our mission is to help fight hunger and poverty of residents of Dare County, with temporary assistance of food and personal items as needed and to establish such other services as to alleviate hunger and poverty.

Food for Thought

Food for Thought is an all-volunteer community non-profit organization dedicated to reducing hunger and academic risk facing elementary children in Dare County by providing healthy, non- perishable meals every weekend and holiday during the school year to those children who qualify.

Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and craftspeople in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities. St. Andrew’s-By-the-Sea began hosting Empty Bowls events in the fall of 2021 and has made it an annual event since.
